Somerset Patriots won the 2001 Atlantic League Championship
after a record breaking 83-43 season. The Patriots staged
one of the greatest comebacks in baseball to fight from
an 0-2 deficit against the Newark Bears in the best-of-five
championship series to win the title. The Somerset Patriots
continuously rank among the top drawing minor league baseball
teams throughout the nation and drew 1,000,000 fans in less
than three seasons at Commerce Bank Ballpark.
The
Patriots play 72 home games at Commerce Bank Ballpark, located
off Route 287 in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Commerce Bank
Ballpark is a state of the art multi-use facility with 6,100
seats, 20 luxury suites, a picnic area, a general admission
turf club, and an alcohol-free family section. Fans always
know the score by gazing toward the most awesome scoreboard
to be found anywhere in the minor leagues.
